Leelanau County Sheriff's officials said the body of Brian Paul Rolston of Lake Leelanau had been located in the water on Friday.

Rolston was swimming Thursday near the shore at Van's Beach in Leland when he was swept away. A friend entered the water to offer aid, but was forced back by the current.

The Sheriff's Department marine patrol, area fire department rescue teams and the U.S. Coast Guard searched Thursday for the boy until it became too dark. The search resumed Friday around the beach, located about 20 miles northwest of Traverse City.
