The crash happened around 11:25 a.m. Friday on Seven Mile Road near Comstock Park Drive NW in Alpine Township.
Kent County deputies said the motorcyclist was Darrell Proctor, 42, of Trufant. They said he was wearing a helmet.
Police said the SUV's driver, 36-year-old Jim Twork of Rockford, was not hurt. Deputies said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

SUV strikes biker!! How sad when someone loses a life and the hidden agenda (SUV) is to infer the vehicle was the cause. If a Prius was the vehicle the person was driving when they crossed the center line and hit the motorcycle would the the title be "Hybred strikes motorcycle, kills biker"? Thoughts and prayers to the family that lost a loved one, and the family and driver that cased the accident.
