The Van Buren County Sheriff's Department said a 37-year-old man from the Detroit area was arrested following Thursday's stop in Antwerp Township. He allegedly told authorities that the guns belonged to him, and he was taking them from the Chicago area to the Detroit area.

The man was held on traffic warrants out of Grand Rapids pending a review from prosecutors of possible weapons charges.

An illegal silencer was allegedly found with one of the guns and some of the weapons weren't properly registered. Authorities said the guns didn't appear to be stolen.
