A resident in the 9600 block of Little Creek Court, near the intersection of 96th Avenue and Riley Street in Holland Township, noticed a dog barking and heard glass breaking about 11 a.m. Tuesday, said Lt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department. That person looked out the window and saw three men breaking into a neighbor’s home, and called 911.

The neighbor also yelled at the intruders and they fled the scene.

Bennett said two of the men were apprehended not far away. The third person was arrested a short time later at his home.

All three men — ages 22, 20 and 18 — were lodged in the Ottawa County Jail on a charge of second-degree home invasion.

The incident is still under investigation.
