Alexander P. Snively’s next court hearing – an arraignment Oct 22 in circuit court, will also likely be waived, said his attorney Joe Legatz.
That means Snively would then go to trial on charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, and assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer. He could also enter a plea, at which time a sentencing date would be set.
Snively was arrested at about 3 a.m. Sept. 29, after a Grand Haven Department of Public Safety officer responded to a noise disturbance call at an upstairs apartment in the 700 block of Clinton St.
Officer Joe Schulte went to the apartment and was confronted by Snively, who allegedly struck him several times with a wine bottle, according to GHDPS Director Jeff Hawke.
