The reburial is planned Monday afternoon at the grave of Shannon Siders in Newaygo City Cemetery, 35 miles north of Grand Rapids.

Bob Siders said it marks "another step" in the investigation into his daughter's slaying.

Shannon Siders, who was 18 at the time, was last seen alive July 18, 1989. Her decomposed body was found three months later in the Manistee National Forest in Newaygo County's Brooks Township. A task force was set up in 2011 to look into the case and her body was exhumed in July.

Monday is the 23rd anniversary of the discovery of her body.
