Firefighters rescue 500-pound woman

The 41-year-old Warren woman was taken to a hospital, and she remained hospitalized Wednesday in intensive care.

The Warren Fire Department responded following a call from the woman's husband, who told them she needed medical attention. Authorities said the woman had bedsores and was found in her own waste.

Fire Commissioner Skip McAdams said the woman had a broken hip and later became bed-ridden. Her name wasn't released

Four children in the apartment were placed with a relative who lives nearby.

The case will be taken up by the Macomb County prosecutor's office to determine whether charges will be filed.
