Smash and grabs investigated near Lakes Mall

Thieves smashed windows on locked vehicles and grabbed valuables left in plain sight Tuesday evening at businesses near The Lakes Mall.

Fruitport Township Police said the incidents occurred between 7 and 8 p.m. in parking lots at Red Lobster, 1681 E. Sternberg Road; and at Booyah’s, 6022 Harvey St.

Police are encouraging area residents to be extra vigilant during the holiday shopping season.
