Robert J. Brooks has been arraigned on charges of obstruction of justice and resisting officers, and being a habitual offender. His criminal record includes a prison break.
A judge has ordered Brooks jailed on a $500,000 bond and called for him to get a court-appointed lawyer. His preliminary examination is scheduled for Dec. 5.
Muskegon police said they received a report of a domestic disturbance about 2 a.m. Monday. They said witnesses told them they saw a man waving a handgun and arguing with a woman in a house where a 2-year-old boy was present.
Authorities arrested Brooks without incident about 10 a.m.
