A series of break-ins to businesses along M-45 Monday morning appears to be related to a string of incidents in Georgetown Township, according to Lt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies responded to calls of break-ins at four Allendale Township businesses and one Tallmadge Township business early Monday morning, Bennett said.

Windows were smashed at all locations. Cash and checks were taken.

Police believe the businesses were entered between 2-6 a.m.

Bennett said a safe taken from one Allendale business was discovered later in the morning near Bridge and Garfield NW in the city of Grand Rapids.

Police said the break-ins may be related to three other incidents in Georgetown Township about 10 days ago.

Anyone with information on any of these break-ins is asked to call Silent Observer at 1-877-88 SILENT, or leave a tip online at www.mosotips.com.
