A judge Monday sentenced Jon Jungkind to 40 months to 15 years in prison for third-degree criminal sexual conduct. A jury found Jungkind guilty of the crime last month, but acquitted him on a second charge.
Jungkind, 45, had sex with a 17-year-old student from Cedar Springs High School, where he taught science.
He was arrested last year after the girl told a friend about the relationship. The friend then reported the relationship to school administrators.
