James Benjamin Koepke, 52, was arraigned Wednesday in Muskegon County's 60th District Court on two counts of armed robbery. The charges carry a possible life sentence.

Police identified Koepke as the suspect in Christmas Eve and Christmas Day robberies at the Admiral gas station in Whitehall. Koepke implied he had a weapon in both cases, though none was seen, according to police. No one was injured.

More than $200 was reportedly taken during the Christmas Eve robbery, and the cash drawer was taken the next day. Both were recovered.

Koepke is lodged at the Muskegon County Jail. A preliminary exam is scheduled for Jan. 17.
