Judge dismisses woman's cursing charge

Berrien County Trial Court Judge Charles LaSata on Friday dismissed the charge against 49-year-old LaRue Ford.

She was charged with contempt after a clerk heard Ford use a profanity while trying to take care of an old traffic ticket on Dec. 4.

Ford said she's pleased to have the misdemeanor behind her, referring to the past month as "grueling" and "tiring."
