Floyd Dennis was found dead at his home Friday, about 12 miles southwest of Harrison. The Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant reported that a 32-year-old woman was in custody. She could appear in court Tuesday.
The 68-year-old Dennis joined the Harrison school board in 2008, but his service to the district is much longer. Superintendent Tom House called him a "valuable member of the school community," 100 miles north of Lansing.
Clare County authorities so far aren't releasing many details about the investigation.
