Investigators said the man was working on a machine around 9 a.m. Tuesday at Stanco Metal Products in Williamston when he lost his footing and fell into it.

Stanco Metal Products is based in Grand Haven, Mich.

Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore said 62-year-old Kendall Collier died from head injuries.

Shore said there were safety features on the machine, but he will leave it up to workplace investigators to determine if they were working.

Federal records show a 2007 incident at the Williamston plant killed another worker who fell from a scissor lift after being hit by a crane while working on electrical lines. The company was fined $550.

If the safety features were not working at the time, I hope the mans family gets the biggest settlement they can!!!!
