Multiple crashes reported on I-96 near Marne

(UPDATE: Wednesday, 2:15 p.m.) All lanes for westbound I-96 at 16th Avenue (Exit 23) are now open, according to Ottawa County Central Dispatch.

Emergency crews tended to multiple crashes on I-96 in Ottawa County, just west of the Kent County line.

One of the crashes, reported at 11:34 a.m., involved two cars and a semitrailer truck in the westbound lanes of the highway, just west of Marne.

Westbound I-96 at 16th Avenue was closed to traffic for nearly two hours.
