The boy's mother was driving in Kent County's Nelson Township at about 1 p.m. Monday when she lost control in slush on the road's shoulder. Their vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The boy is expected to survive.

Theodore Heath, 21, was killed in a two-vehicle accident Sunday night in Barry County. That crash was blamed on ice.

Many school districts across the state canceled classes Monday.

Temperatures are expected to rise well above freezing today before cold air returns Wednesday.

The weather has become very dull these days and unpredictable too. So we need to be very aware of the further consequences of it and we need to stay prepared for the worst.
