According to Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski, the 37-year-old Farwell resident phoned in the threat Friday to the Beal City School in Nottawa Township.

Authorities said the woman is the mother of a former student. The sheriff's office said the suspect told school personnel she was going to "level the building."

The school immediately went into lockdown.

The woman was arrested and taken to the Isabella County Jail to await arraignment.

Who opened the gates at the, well you know, the place, over there, down the road, you know the one, where some of the people that, ah, walk slower are? We very much need a national boobee hatch patrol with large butterfly nets; and soon. I would so much appreciate just a couple of weeks where people aren't killed, guns aren't discussed, mothers aren't threatening to blow up schools, the NRA is quiet, and we all could just use our heads and be nice to each other. And for crying out loud, get that 5 year old boy out of that damned hole in the ground in Alabama. I would very much appreciate not hearing about Michigan and a major incident on the national news. Thank you very much.
