Sheriff's officials said an Ionia Public Schools bus was unable to negotiate a curve Thursday afternoon in Ionia County's Easton Township, ran off the road and rolled onto its side.

The driver and five students were on the bus. One student suffered minor injuries.

The accident occurred as a winter storm began sweeping east across the state.

The National Weather Service was forecasting up to a foot of snow in parts of Michigan by Friday morning.
