Firefighters found the bodies of 3-year-old twins and a 1-year-old girl inside a unit at the Interfaith Apartments in Kalamazoo. The children may have been left home alone.
The fire started about 2 p.m. Monday. One apartment was destroyed and a second heavily damaged.
The blaze may have started on the building's first floor and spread to the second floor. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A firefighter was injured when a ladder he was on collapsed.
Most of the 200 units in the apartment complex are for low-income families.
