The crash happened on U.S. 31 just north of Hickory at about 10:39 a.m. The car landed on its roof off the west side of the highway.

One person in the vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Police said Jerome Williams Sr., 61, of Chicago, was driving southbound on the highway, lost control on ice and went off the road.

His car struck several trees and then rolled over onto its roof.

He was wearing his seatbelt, police said.

Emergency personnel responded from both Muskegon and Ottawa counties.
