Dustyn Zimmerman was driving north on 68th Avenue at about 3:35 p.m. when he lost control of his car on the icy and slushy road, just north of Garfield Street in Polkton Township, police said.

Zimmerman’s 2005 Pontiac Vibe spun around into the southbound lane and crashed head-on into a 2012 Kia driven by Suzanne Jones of Coopersville, said Sgt. Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department. Jones' Kia was then struck from behind by a 2001 Ford Pickup driven by Eric Bigelow, 30, of Coopersville.

All three drivers were wearing seat belts, Austin said.

Jones, 44, suffered minor injuries. She sought her own treatment after being checked out by paramedics at the scene.
