Joshua Owens was killed at about 12:50 a.m. Sunday when he was struck by a car while walking across Ottawa Beach Road, according to Sgt. Greg Rottman of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Witnesses told police that Owens had been at the Itty Bitty Bar and Grill. He left to go to a bank across the street to use an ATM.

Rottman said two vehicles were involved in the incident. They both stopped, and then left the scene.

Police later received a tip that the cars were in the driveway of a Park Township residence. Deputies went to the house, confirmed the cars were the same as those involved in the crash and arrested two people on a charge of leaving the scene of a fatal traffic crash.
