Jennifer Appl was arraigned Tuesday on charges of driving under the influence of liquor and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
Appl told Calhoun County District Judge John Holmes she wanted to stand mute until she's able to meet with an attorney. Holmes entered a not-guilty plea for her, and Appl said she was requesting a jury if the case goes to trial.
County Prosecutor David Gilbert said Appl came to work at 10 p.m. Saturday and was legally intoxicated.
Appl declined comment after the arraignment. She is on paid administrative leave while the department conducts an internal investigation.
