Police cordoned off that area near some docks behind Rycenga Lumber, 1053 Jackson St. in Grand Haven, while they investigated.

That is where the body was pulled out of the south channel of the fast-flowing river at about noon.

Personnel at a nearby marina were working to move logs that had jammed up against their docks at about 10:30 a.m. when one of the workers spotted in the muddy water something that looked like a human body. They followed the body down river until they were able use a long pole to pull it ashore.

The body is that of a bald, white male who wore a T-shirt with an American flag on it and had a tattoo on his leg, one of the marina workers said.
