Police said Trevor James O'Brien, 28, was reported missing from Grand Rapids on Feb. 3.
Grand Haven Department of Public Safety detectives have been working to positively identify the man since his body was pulled from the south channel of the river behind Rycenga Lumber on April 18. The Grand Rapids Police Department, Michigan State Police Crime Lab in Grand Rapids and the Ottawa County medical examiner have been assisting the Grand Haven department.
Foul play is not suspected in O'Brien's death, Grand Haven Public Safety Director Jeff Hawke said.
"We do not know how he ended up in the river or where he went into the river," said Detective Sgt. Kristen Rogers of the Grand Rapids Police Department.
