Alfred Dorn was a passenger in a car driven by his wife, Edith, 79. He was taken by ambulance to Hackley Hospital in Muskegon following the 12:43 p.m. crash.

Edith Dorn was driving their 2012 Buick Lacrosse east on M-45 when she failed to notice a car that had stopped in front of her, said Sgt. Dean DeVries of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Police said Jesus Hernandez had stopped his 2003 Honda Pilot on the highway, and was waiting for traffic to clear in order to make a left turn onto 92nd Avenue, when the Dorn vehicle hit his car in the back end.

Hernandez, 32, was not injured.

All of the people involved were wearing seat belts, DeVries said.
