Police said Kevin R. O'Brien, 36, of nearby Wyoming died Monday night at a hospital after falling about 1:45 a.m. Sunday at The B.O.B.

Witnesses told officers that O'Brien entered the open stairwell on the fourth floor and fell to the bottom level. The fall has prompted an investigation by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission.

On April 14, 21-year-old Zachary Bunting of Grand Ledge was trying to slide down a railing when he lost his balance and fell to his death in the same stairwell. Tyler Usher of Dorr was celebrating his birthday at the club in 2009 when he died.

I've probably walked down literally thousands of flights of stairs during my lifetime, in staircases no different than this one, and I've yet to fall to my death. Obviously, the stairwell itself isn't the problem at the B.O.B., it's the inebriated person who's too drunk to manage stairs & too stupid to know it.
