It took about an hour to dislodge the car from beneath the semitrailer and clear the road of debris.

The drivers of the semi and car escaped major injury, but were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Motorist Kevin Curley snapped a photo and sent it to the Tribune with the following message: "I'm not sure what caused this accident, but I think the truck won."

Officer Mike Williams of Spring Lake/Ferrysburg Police said both vehicles were eastbound on Savidge Street. The semi was in the right lane and attempted to make a left turn onto Savidge Court While he was turning, the other vehicle in the left lane was passing him.

Williams said the driver of the car stopped immediately when he realized the semi was turning, but the trailer hit the vehicle, turned it on its side and dragged it a short distance.

The semi driver was ticketed for improper lane use.

Donkers

Car didnt hit the semi. The semi ran over the car while making an illegal left turn from the outside RIGT lane, while the car was in the left lane. The driver of the car did NOT get a ticket. The truck driver did get a ticket. I am the driver of the car.

Glad you are ok! It would be nice if the GHTrib waited for the facts before reporting the accident.
