Roosevelt Park Police did not release the suspect's name, but they said she's a local woman in her 50s.

Officers are trying to determine if this latest case is connected to another fundraising scheme allegedly involving Joann Vaughn, 56. Investigators said Vaughn recently stood outside the Wal-Mart store in Roosevelt Park and a nearby strip mall, asking for donations on behalf of Heeringa's 4-year-old son. Vaughn is facing one count of larceny by false pretenses.

Police said both suspects claim they do not know each other.

Heeringa remains missing after disappearing from her job at a Norton Shores gas station on April 26. Police believe she was abducted.

This type of crime is nothing new. Though as a tax payer, I can't see putting her in jail so that we can all foot the bill. IF YOUR DUMB ENOUGH TO GIVE MONEY TO THIS SORT OF CRIMINAL, THAT'S YOUR MISTAKE. Please don't make me pay for your mistakes.
