Business owners have reported more than 30 cases involving more than $25,000 in damage and loss since early May, said Lt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

On Friday morning, Bennett said break-ins happened at Peppino's Pizza, 977 Butternut Drive in Holland Township; and Jimmy John's and Quiznos, both near U.S. 31 and Riley Street, also in Holland Township.

The suspects are smashing front windows to gain entrance to the buildings in the early morning hours. They are taking petty cash and small safes, Bennett said.

Anyone with information on the break-ins is asked to call Silent Observer at 877-88-SILENT, or leave a tip online at mosotips.com.
