Barbara Roels died at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids following the 6:59 p.m. incident, said Sgt. Greg Rotman of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

A 2012 Honda Civic driven by a 35-year-old Zeeland Township struck Roels while she was riding southbound on the crosswalk at the intersection of Riley and 104th Avenue, Rotman said.

The car westbound car failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection, Rotman said.

Alcohol is not a factor in the crash, the officer said.

The crash is still under investigation.
