The manager of Verdonis, 211 Seminole Road, said someone broke into the business through the roof late Saturday night or early Sunday. The manager said the suspect ate some of the Italian restaurant's food and drank alcohol, then stole the baker's tools before leaving.

Employees cleaned up the mess left behind by the thief and reopened the business on Sunday.

The manager said police are reviewing fingerprints left at the scene.

A nearby business, The Coffee House and Café, was also broken into over the weekend. The thief broke a window and stole cash.

Anyone with information about these cases is asked to call the Norton Shores Police Department at 231-733-2691 or Silent Observer.
