An ambulance took Michael Hansen Jr. to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital following the 7:19 p.m. crash.

Police said Hansen, a bicyclist, was waiting on the sidewalk for traffic to clear when two cars collided at the intersection of Douglas and Aniline avenues. One of the vehicles spun around and struck Hansen.

The crash occurred when Miquel Martinez, 28, of Holland, attempted to turn from eastbound Douglas onto northbound Aniline and was struck by a westbound car driven by Jack Boers, 46, of Allendale.

Neither Martinez nor Boers were injured.

Two children in the Martinez vehicle suffered minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to Zeeland Community Hospital, police said.

All of the occupants of both cars were wearing seatbelts.
