The thieves took an undisclosed amount of cash and small electronics from several stores in the area of U.S. 31 and Ferris, and U.S. 31 and M-45, according to Lt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies responded to an alarm at 3:45 a.m. Saturday at the New Creation Coffee Company, 13040 U.S. 31. When police arrived, the suspects had fled.

Police discovered at that time several other stores in the strip mall south of Ferris Street had also been burglarized.

The other businesses entered were Mancino’s Pizza and Subs, Plantenga’s Cleaners and Aquarios Hair Salon. Green Acres greenhouse at the northwest corner of U.S. 31 and M-45 was also entered.

Bennett said investigators are looking through surveillance video from some of the businesses.

He said police believe these break-ins could be related to several that have occurred since mid-May in the Holland and Zeeland areas.

Where are the 3 Grand Haven Twp funded Ottawa County Sheriff cars. Do these cars work past dark???? or the Michigan State Police who only work day shift in this area. This is unacceptable for the amount of taxes we pay.

Surely someone recognizes that god awful plaid jacket. Some one knows who these people are and should come forward rather than be party to this crime.

Wowzer

Please don't rag on the police. They responded quickly and are doing everything they can. It's believed these robberies are linked to about 30 others and nobody can get any description to identify these careless people. It brought the stores closer together and the community support is outstanding. Thanks to everyone who helped!
