The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two suspects for the early morning break-in of the Hungry Howie’s Pizza at 6185 Lake Michigan Drive in Allendale Township.
Deputies received a 911 call at about 1:30 a.m. Friday from a witness who noted the front window smashed at pizza business. Shortly after that the witness noted two men fleeing on foot.
This witness observation was broadcast to area patrol deputies and a deputy in the area of I-96 and 68th Avenue in Coopersville noted a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse driving erratically.
Deputies made contact with the occupants of that vehicle and found 18- and 19-year-old men from Holland Township.
Further investigation showed that the two had just been involved in the Hungry Howie break-in. It was also found the suspects were in
possession a substantial amount of marijuana.
Both of the suspects are in the process of being interviewed by detectives and it is likely that additional burglary charges related to additional Ottawa County businesses break-ins.
The suspects also face charges for violation of probation and failure to appear warrants. Names were withheld pending arraignment.
The incident remains under investigation.
