Joshua Karl Stuyvesant, 22, suffered chest and pelvic injuries in the one-vehicle crash about 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the 3000 block of Fillmore Street.

Stuyvesant was traveling east on Fillmore at a high rate of speed on a Suzuki GSX motorcycle, said Sgt. Kevin Allman of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

The Jenison man failed to negotiate some curves, left the road and struck a guardrail and a tenuator (end cap of a guardrail).

An ambulance transported Stuyvesant to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids where officials pronounced him dead Sunday morning.

Stuyvesant was wearing a helmet.

The crash is still under investigation.

Sorry for the kid's family, but if you're gonna ride a bike you need to know your limits.

Real nice. I'm sure "the kid's" family is less than amused with your thoughtless remark. Keep it to yourself while they deal with this heavy loss. Show some compassion you ______(fill in your own slam public) for crying out loud.

I hope the family is dealing with their grief well. Focus on good thoughts and I wish you the best.

Pipe down Mini Me....soooo tired of your gibberish, poor grammar and using my handle in your whiny tirades to be cute. I do feel sorry for the kid's family, That's all I can do. I don't know them personally, but I doubt they're taking the time right now to read the Tribune's forums.
This is something that happens multiple times a day, all over the world, to people young and old who push beyond the limits of their skills. It's sad, unfortunate and generally unnessary if one gets some training before being turned loose.
He screwed up and paid the ultimate price. If you can't deal with that fact then you've led too sheltered a life.
To fill in your irate blank, try using "adult bike rider who knows his limits" and stop crying out loud, it's unbecoming.....

Arrogant cus would be a good moniker for you too. Huff and puff all you want as it does give us a clear picture of the hollow human you have become. Your family must be so proud of your constipated ego and roll their eyes when you blow your rant crap in their face.

Ever think or care that his family or someone that knows him just might read your ignorant rant.

You should use your blow hole face to face with someone other then a family member that just might not feel like hearing your shat. Just see how far that conversation leds you tough biker guy. What a joke. Guarantee you would have more room to shove oatmeal down your throat with your teeth missing.

Oh stop it, you're embarrassing yourself. "Tough biker guy"...now THAT was funny. Least I don't have to have a gun on my person to make myself feel like a man. Life must suck for you, living in fear of darn near everything and having no sense of humor whatsoever.
Go find Batman, Robin and stick with what you think you know.

I'm less than amused, go eat your oatmeal pathetic old man.

I like oatmeal. I put raisins in it with a little brown sugar...yummy.

Sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Youthful exuberance can never be restrained.

Loss of life through misadventure is an unpredictable burden for us all.

Editorial comment... it was an "attenuator" that probably hurt this guy the most. Not a "a tenuator" Becky. Being picky; sucks to be a journailst (sic); still feel bad for all who knew the deceased.
