Gail Masselink, 60, went missing on Christmas Eve, 2012. Her vehicle was found in a county park near the 12th Avenue and Taylor Street intersection on the same day.
A man looking for a hunting spot in a heavily wooded area along the Grand River found the remains late Sunday afternoon, said Lt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
A forensic anthropologist is examining the remains at Holland Hospital, Bennett said.
A forensic odontologist used dental records to confirm the identity of the remains, he said.
A cause of death is yet to be determined.
