Rocky Snell, 45, was acquitted Monday of driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. The Egelston Township man was convicted of failure to report an accident.
A judge ordered him to pay $325 in fines and costs.
Police said the Oakridge Public Schools driver complained that Snell backed his truck into her bus on Feb. 1, pushing it toward an intersection. No children were on the bus. Investigators said Snell was drunk.
Defense lawyer Jeffrey West argued that the accident was caused by mechanical failure, not alcohol. He said Snell drank alcohol rapidly after the collision.
