Cassandra Collins, 27, crashed her 2004 Chevrolet Impala into a ditch and a culvert about 12:14 a.m. Friday, according to Sgt. Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Collins was traveling west on Arthur Street east of 76th Avenue when her car left the road, Austin said. The impact with the culvert caused the car to flip and roll.

Police said there is no indication of any alcohol or drug use.

An ambulance transported Collins to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

A hospital spokesperson said Collins was still critical as of early Sunday evening.

What purpose does it serve to guess or bet on what caused the accident? How about just thoughts and prayers that she is going to be okay.

papa bear

just like you we are entitled to our opinion so how about leaving it at that

Thank you... Thoughts and prayers are more appropriate

Ah, to win the bet is usually the purpose. Oh, you probably don't think there should be wagering on the causes of accidents; I get it now.

On a more serious note, I sincerely hope that Cassandra recovers from her injuries and that this accident can be put behind her, regardless the cause.

Cassie is a wonderful wife, mother, sister, daughter aunt and friend... She is one of the happiest and most selfless people I've ever met in my life! Her family reads these stories, do you have any idea what it's like for her husband, a marine who fought for this country, to watch his wife lying in a hospital bed, with tubes all over her body, not knowing when she will awake or if she will remember him??? Or her 2 small children who have no idea where their Mommy is or why they haven't seen her in days??? Or her mother and father feeling helpless over their baby girl?? Or her brother and sister, knowing their baby sister could be dead right now???
I understand that you can comment however you want on these stories... But try to think about her family... They haven't left her side in days!!! Did you know there was a huge pothole in the road at the exact spot she went of the road (that's now repaired)??? Did you know at the moment she crashed it was down pouring rain???
Does any of this matter to anyone??? Maybe before commenting on stories that effect human beings and their loved ones, we should stop and think about their pain and suffering before opening our ignorant mouths!!!
By the grace of God, Cassie is alive!!! I was hoping to see more prayers on here and wishes of her recovery... I forgot that the most ignorant people are usually the first ones to open their mouths!!!!

We love you Cassie!!! We are praying for you every single day... The world needs you, we need kind hearted angels walking this earth, like you... So get better soon honey, we will be right here waiting!!!

I don't know her or the family, but thoughts and prayers are with you all!
