Kendall Ray Samuels is being held on felony charges of carrying a concealed weapon, vehicle theft and burglary of a business, said Lt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responded to Creekside Auto on Oak Street and found the business had been entered through a window, Bennett said. Cash and a handgun were missing.
Police reported S&S Auto on VanBuren Street had also been burglarized. A 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck was stolen from that business.
Saturday evening police noticed suspicious activity behind the old Kmart store on Chicago Drive in Georgetown Township.
They observed stolen pickup truck occupied by a man who fled when he saw police.
Later Sunday afternoon Samuels was arrested without incident at a friend’s house in the Presidential Estates Mobile Home Park in Hudsonville.
The incident remains under investigation.
