She was also accused of passing bad checks while out on bond.
Police said Constance Johnson, 37, struck a parked pickup truck on Oct. 7, 2012, in her hometown of Ypsilanti Township, near Ann Arbor. They said her son, Isiah Caddel, was sitting in a car carrier but it wasn't strapped in.
Washtenaw County Circuit Judge David Schwartz sentenced her Thursday.
Johnson pleaded no contest in August to driving while intoxicated causing a death as part of a deal with prosecutors. She was charged Wednesday with fraud for passing bad checks in August.
