Sheila Gutierrez Rivera was last seen at about 6 p.m. Tuesday. Police said she was supposed to have gone to a neighbor's home in Allendale Township to do homework.

Tips given to investigators helped them track the girl to the Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City, Ind. That's where police said they found Sheila Gutierrez Rivera with an 18-year-old man, Daniel Privera-Pozadas.

Privera-Pozadas was arrested without incident and is being held in Indiana on kidnapping charge. He awaits extradition to Michigan.

Police said Privera-Pozadas was a friend of the girl's family.

The girl was returned to her parents Wednesday evening. Police said they did not believe the girl was in danger during the time she was missing.

The case remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.

It's wonderful that this girl is home and safe, but there is a lot more to this than is being shared with readers; a lot more.

What kind of a parent would allow a child this age to go to an out of state casino on a schoolnight???

They didn't allow it, she was supposed to be at a friends house studying but instead took off with her boyfriend; at least that is what we are supposed to assume.

Uhhh bud, if I have been reading Citizen's posts rightly then I'd hazard a guess that he had his tongue firmly planted in his cheek on this one. See #armchairparenting as exhibit 1. :-)

I'm not a twitter user, but I think I did that right?

I'm not either, but it looks right to me. Nice play. :-)

OK, I've never used twitter and never will; you got me, well played.

How much did this little episode cost the taxpayers? Missy needs to feel a little pain from her actions.
