Police said the man displayed a knife as he entered AJ's Party Store, 12059 Felch St. in Holland Township, shortly before 2 p.m. He demanded money from the clerk and fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, said Lt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.

The clerk gave police a description of the suspect and his vehicle, and it was broadcast to all area police agencies.

"One of the sheriff's deputies working in the Holland Township area recalled a traffic contact he had with that vehicle and driver earlier in the week," Bennett said.

Sheriff's deputies and officers from the Holland Department of Public Safety located the suspect in the vehicle later Thursday afternoon in the area of 16th Street and Country Club Avenue in Holland, and arrested him without incident.

The suspect is being held at the Ottawa County Jail. His name is being withheld pending his arraignment in Holland District Court on armed robbery charges, which is expected today.

Bennett said the case remains under investigation.

Hey wait a minute....if we outlaw cash we can eliminate the crime too. Hmm, seems like this plan is already in process too.

I know I'm a participant in that plan, I won't say who's to blame for that though as that might open up another can of fishing bait.
