The crash happened Thursday night along a stretch of I-196 in Allegan County's Saugatuck Township that was slick from sleet and snow that had fallen.

The first crash happened when 21-year-old Jared Kavinsky of Hartland, Wis., lost control and hit a median barrier. Before rescuers arrived, police said 62-year-old Terrence Noone of Chicago stopped.

Police said they both were fatally struck by another vehicle. The 26-year-old Michigan driver of the vehicle that hit them was hospitalized.

The crash is under investigation. The roadway was partially closed near the crash scene for several hours as crews responded.

That is a tragic news. We never expect it to be like this but it happened right there. - Kris Krohn
