She was not injured.

Fruitport Township Police responded to the intersection of Hilton Park Road and East Pontaluna Road at 4:15 p.m., and found the vehicle in the ditch.

Police said the driver had consumed alcohol and preliminary breath test results indicated a blood alcohol content of .262. A person is considered under the influence at .08 if over the age of 21.

The driver was lodged at the Muskegon County Jail.

Records indicate she has no prior alcohol-related driving convictions, police said.

Her name was not released.

It just blows my mind that people still drunk drive. These days a person gets greased up big time for DUI. In the end its costs like $10,000 with all the fines, fees, rate hikes.

I totally agree with both of you.

This is just the latest example of the fact that no one ever learns from someone else's mistake. If they did this type of incident wouldn't be an almost a daily occurence. Everyone it seems has to learn the hard way for themselves. Given that, it's a wonder the human race has progressed as far as it has in the last 2000 years.....

I don't know what she'll end up with as a sentence, or punishment, but if you're that plowed and drive, first time or not, you should lose your license for a minimum of one year. A year of dial-a-ride, bike riding, walking and having your friends haul your sorry a** around town should sober up a reasonably intelligent person.

If you repeat this type of stupidity a second time, then you need some remedial education on cause and effect and a good pair of shoes, because if I had my way you'd be walking for the rest of your life!

50 years old, nice vehicle, for sure knows better...really bad judgment. Speaking of judgment...wow, this is gonna hurt.

How do you not call a friend, a family member, or take a cab when you are that inebriated? Probably didn't want anybody to know right? Everybody knows now and look at the size of the hole that this woman is in.

Guess who else is going to be in a real world of hurt? You got it, they most assuredly will find out where she was at and who was serving her.

50 years of no driving infractions all flushed down the toilet with one GIGANTIC mistake. Nice that she only took out some grass, and maybe did a little damage to her own vehicle. And bank account. And driving record. And insurance rates. And pride.

Ya, all the above stuff but she might have really enjoyed those many drinks and much as she can remember! I'll bet they will be etched deeply in her mind forever. DUMMY!
