Children found

(UPDATED 11:30 a.m. Tuesday) Two children are safe after being found with their father in a vehicle police stopped late this morning on M-21.

Police were looking for Wade Elliot Charlson, 37, of Holland, who took his children with him from their home in the 2000 block of Oak Hollow about 8:30 p.m. on Monday.

The boys are Jack, 6, and Colt, 4, Charlson.

Wade Charlson was driving a black 2001 Kia Spectra with a license plate of DBU1656.

A search continued throughout the night.

The vehicle was stopped by Kent County Sheriff's deputies just before 11 a.m. today on M-21 near Lowell.

The father is in police custody and will be taken in for mental health evaluation, pending possible charges.

The children are being reunited with their mother.
