Man injures hand working at Ottawa County farm

A Cedar Springs man's right hand was severely injured when it got caught in a conveyor system at a Jamestown Township farm.

Police said Timothy John Patin, 48, is a contractor who repairs conveyor systems. He was working on a conveyor at 988 20th Ave. when the accident happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. Thursday, said Sgt. Greg Rotman of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.

Patin was first treated at Zeeland Community Hospital before being transferred to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. His condition was not reported.
