Deputies stop swerving car

Ottawa County deputies were able to locate and stop a car whose driver was having a medical problem late Monday afternoon in Crockery Township.

Other motorists reported seeing the car swerving all over the road in the area of Cleveland Street and 136th Avenue at about 5:30 p.m.

"The driver was determined to be having a diabetic episode and was turned over to paramedics from North Ottawa Community Hospital for treatment," said Sgt. Greg Rotman of the Sheriff's Department. "Due to this incident, traffic on Cleveland Street was blocked for approximately 30 minutes."

The name of the driver, a 54-year-old Fruitport woman, was not released.
