Jan 14, 2014

It happened around 1:30 a.m.

Norton Shores Police said the girl jumped from the Henry Street bridge onto the lake ice, injuring herself.

It took firefighters about 15 minutes to get to the girl and get her off the ice. They said the girl was about 150 feet from shore.

The teenager was taken to Mercy Health Muskegon's Hackley Campus.  Officers said they did not know her current condition.

Investigators said they do not know why the girl jumped from the bridge onto the ice.

Let's just stop and think here for a moment....why would a 15 year old girl, jump off a bridge, supposedly aiming for the water below, at 1:30 in the morning, in the middle of January?
